Sue Kim wins Decatur-Forsyth Classic in playoff
Jun 17, 2013 - 12:34 AM Decatur, IL (Sports Network) - Sue Kim birdied the first playoff hole on Sunday to defeat Laura Kueny and win the Decatur-Forsyth Classic.Kim fired a 9-under 63 on Sunday to end 54 holes at Hickory Point Golf Club alongside Kueny (69) at 10-under-par 206.
Then it was on to the par-4 18th, where Kim found the fairway with her drive as Kueny, the winner of this year's Symetra Classic, hit into the left rough.
Kim then dropped her approach within five feet and Kueny left herself a tricky 35-footer, which she missed before Kim calmly drained her short putt and secured her first career Symetra Tour victory.
"My dad passed away three years ago," said Kim after her win. "It's Father's Day so I want to dedicate my win to him."
