Eaks returns to scene of first Champions Tour triumph
Jul 4, 2008 - 1:28 PM ENDICOTT, New York (Ticker) -- Looking for his first win of the season, R.W. Eaks returns this week to the site of his breakthrough triumph.Eaks and the Champions Tour return to En-Joie Golf Course for the $1.6 million Dick's Sporting Goods Open, which starts Friday.
Last year, Eaks earned his first Champions Tour title by posting a three-stroke victory over Bruce Vaughan.
Plagued by knee pain and looking down the road at possible double-knee replacement surgery, Eaks has only one top-10 finish this season.
Eaks' victory here a year ago was the highlight of a career season in which he eclipsed the $1 million earning mark for the first time.
Last week's winner, Loren Roberts, is not in the field. Bernhard Langer, Lonnie Nielsen and Craig Stadler are among those entered this week.
First prize is $240,000.
