Game On Dude working his way back
May 23, 2013 - 9:04 PM Arcadia, CA (Sports Network) - Santa Anita Handicap winner Game On Dude has begun workouts and is on target for the Hollywood Gold Cup thus summer.Trained by Bob Baffert, Game On Dude had a half-mile workout at Santa Anita on Monday, his first timed work since winning the Charles Town Classic last month.
Owned by Diamond Pride Racing and partners, Game On Dude worked the four- furlongs in 50 3/5 seconds.
"He just started breezing," said Baffert. "He won't run in the Californian (June 1), but I think he'll be ready for the (Hollywood) Gold Cup (July 6)."
The 6-year-old gelding won both the Californian and Gold Cup last year and is perfect in three starts in 2013. In February he successfully defended his title in the San Antonio Stakes and notched his second career victory in the Big 'Cap.
In 25 career starts, the gelding has won 13 times and banked $4,702,158.
