Wise Dan works for upcoming race
Jun 15, 2013 - 9:26 PM Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Reigning Horse of the Year Wise Dan put in a workout Saturday at Keeneland two weeks ahead of his next start. Trained by Charles LoPresti, the 6-year-old gelding is training for the $150,000 Firecracker Handicap at Churchill Downs on June 29.Owned by Morton Fink, Wise Dan worked five furlongs in 58 2/5 seconds.
"He worked very well and galloped out really strong," LoPresti said. "We were very happy with it."
This year, the 6-year-old gelding won the Maker's 46 Mile turf race by a length on April 12 at Keeneland and the Turf Classic at Churchill Downs on May 4.
Wise Dan has posted 15 wins in 22 lifetime starts for better than $4,059,631.
