Street throws 20 pitches in batting practice
Mar 12, 2010 - 8:49 PM TUCSON, Ariz.(AP) -- Rockies closer Huston Street says his 20-pitch performance in batting practice went well and his right shoulder was fine.Colorado has been cautious with Street this spring training after he experienced inflammation in the shoulder. He said he was hitting his spots Friday and getting good movement on his pitches.
Street converted 35 of 37 save chances last season and is hoping to throw in a simulated game Monday. If that goes well, he could make his first exhibition appearance later that week.
Rockies setup man Rafael Betancourt threw 30 pitches in a bullpen session with no discomfort. Betancourt also has been bothered by right shoulder inflammation.
No one has shouted yet.
