Twins avoid arbitration with INF Casilla
Jan 16, 2011 - 11:35 PM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins have avoided arbitration with Alexi Casilla, signing the infielder to a one-year deal worth $865,000.Casilla played 30 games at shortstop and 24 at second base last season, batting .276 with 42 hits and 20 runs batted in. He played the odd game at third base and also spent two in the outfield.
In five seasons, all with Minnesota, Casilla has a .249 average with 96 RBI over 312 games.
