Blue Jays sign Guerrero to minor league contract
May 11, 2012 - 3:55 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays signed outfielder/designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero to a minor league contract on Thursday.The 37-year-old played for Baltimore last season and batted .290 with 13 homers and 63 RBI over 145 games.
Over his 16 seasons in the majors, he has clubbed 449 home runs along with 1,496 RBI and a .318 batting average. He has played for Montreal, the Angels, Texas and Baltimore in his career.
He will report to Blue Jays extended spring training in Dunedin, Florida.
