Cards place Jay on DL
May 15, 2012 - 6:11 PM St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Jon Jay on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right shoulder.Jay missed six games last month after hitting the outfield wall during an April 19 game against Cincinnati. He returned on April 27.
In 27 games this season, Jay is batting .343 with a pair of homers and eight runs batted in.
The Cardinals recalled outfielder Shane Robinson from Triple-A Memphis to fill the roster spot. Robinson was optioned to Memphis on Sunday after batting .311 in 23 games with St. Louis this season.
