Angels OF Anderson placed on DL with hip injury

Jun 17, 2007 - 6:52 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Sunday placed outfielder Garret Anderson on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip injury.

Anderson, 34, suffered the injury in the first inning of Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The veteran left fielder made a running catch in left-center field for the second out of the frame but was replaced by rookie Reggie Willits in the top of the second inning.

Anderson has struggled through an injury-marred 2007 season, batting .264 with three homers and 15 RBI in just 34 games.

In a corresponding roster move, the Angels recalled outfielder Terry Evans from Class AAA Salt Lake.
