O's place Chen on DL
May 14, 2013 - 7:58 PM Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles placed pitcher Wei-Yin Chen on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique prior to Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres.Chen left Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins due to the injury after throwing five shutout innings. The left-hander is 3-3 with a 3.04 ERA in his first eight starts this season.
Alex Burnett was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to take Chen's spot on the roster. He pitched one scoreless inning of relief for the O's on May 9.
