Rangers place Kinsler on DL
May 19, 2013 - 9:01 PM Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers placed All-Star second baseman Ian Kinsler on the 15-day disabled list with a right intercostal strain on Sunday.The move is retroactive to May 18.
Kinsler, 30, is batting .302 with seven home run and 20 RBI in 40 games for the Rangers this season.
To take Kinsler's place on the active roster, infielder Jurickson Profar was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
Profar, 20, was batting .278 with four home runs and 19 RBI in 37 games with Round Rock this year. Last season, he played in nine games with Texas and went 3-for-17 with a home run and two RBI.
With these moves, the Rangers have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
