Reds' Votto claims NL Player of the Week honor
May 20, 2013 - 8:28 PM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has been selected as the National League's Player of the Week for the period ending May 19.Votto led the majors with a .583 batting average (14-for-24) and a .655 on- base percentage. He had multi-hit performances in five of the six games last week and finished with two home runs and five RBI.
Others considered for the award were Arizona's Paul Goldschmidt, Washington's Adam LaRoche and New York's Daniel Murphy.
