Oblique strain sends Phillies' Utley to DL
May 24, 2013 - 4:20 AM Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Phillies have placed second baseman Chase Utley on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.Utley is expected to miss between 2-to-4 weeks with what the team is calling a "mild grade 1" strain.
The club selected the contract of utility man Michael Martinez from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to replace Utley.
Utley is batting .272 with seven homers and 25 RBI through 44 games this season.
