Brewers closer Henderson lands on DL
May 26, 2013 - 1:56 AM Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Milwaukee Brewers closer Jim Henderson will miss at least two weeks after being placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strained hamstring.Henderson sustained the injury during the ninth inning of Friday's game against Pittsburgh and was forced to exit with two outs, with Francisco Rodriguez coming on to retire the final batter and preserve the Brewers' 2-1 win.
The 30-year-old Henderson has converted all nine of his save opportunities since replacing John Axford as Milwaukee's closer in early April, and owns a 0.92 earned run average along with a 2-1 record in 20 appearances this season.
Milwaukee does have a pair of relievers with extensive experience working the ninth inning in Rodriguez, who has compiled 295 saves over a 12-year career, and Axford, who tied for the National League lead with 46 saves in 2011.
The Brewers will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Sunday's matchup with the Pirates.
