Cubs 1B Ward leaves game with strained right calf
Jul 19, 2007 - 7:27 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Chicago Cubs first baseman Daryle Ward left Thursday afternoon's game against the San Francisco Giants in the second inning with a strained right calf.Ward slid on his knees trying to catch Pedro Feliz's popup in front of the mound, but the ball dropped in for a single.
Ward, who was starting at first for a second straight day while Derrek Lee serves a five-game suspension, was replaced by Mark DeRosa.
