Cardinals place 2B Kennedy on disabled list

LOUIS (Ticker) - The St. Louis Cardinals placed second baseman Adam Kennedy on the 15-day disabled list with a torn medial meniscus in his right knee prior to Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.Kennedy, who was 1-for-3 with a single in the Cardinals' 6-1 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday afternoon, is batting .219 with three home runs and 18 RBI in 87 games this season.
Kennedy is expected to miss four to six weeks.
In a corresponding move, the Cardinals recalled infielder Brendan Ryan from Class AAA Memphis.
Ryan, who beginning his fourth stint with the Cardinals this season, has hit .339 with two homers and five RBI in 25 games this season.
