Giants place RHP Lincecum on bereavement list

Aug 17, 2007 - 11:17 PM MIAMI (Ticker) -- The San Francisco Giants made a pair of roster moves Friday, placing righthander Tim Lincecum on the bereavement list and activating infielder Rich Aurilia from the 15-day disabled list.

Lincecum has been one of the bright spots for the Giants this season, going 7-3 with a 3.95 ERA in 19 starts as a rookie. The 23-year-old phenom has allowed 51 earned runs and 91 hits in 116 1/3 innings, striking out 125 batters while walking just 52.

After losing both of his decisions in June, Lincecum has been brilliant, going 5-1 in nine starts while allowing more than three runs on just one occasion.

Aurilia, 35, has been sidelined since August 2 with a strained right hamstring. The veteran has appeared in 70 games this season, hitting .253 with four home runs and 26 RBI.

Currently on his second tour of duty with San Francisco, Aurilia is a career .277 hitter with 173 homers and 681 RBI in 1,423 games with the Giants, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds.
