Angels' Anderson sixth player since 1969 with 10 RBI

Aug 22, 2007 - 5:49 AM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim cleanup hitter Garret Anderson set a franchise record with 10 RBI in Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees, becoming just the sixth player since 1969 to record 10 or more RBI in a single game.

Anderson's huge night was the first double-digit RBI performance since Alex Rodriguez accomplished the feat for the Yankees against the Angels on April 26, 2005.

However, with a groundout in his final at-bat in the eighth inning, the 35-year-old fell just one RBI short of the American League record of 11 in a contest, held by the Yankees' Tony Lazzeri, who drove in 11 in 1936.
