Rockies' Dickerson named NL Player of the Week

Aug 18, 2014 - 8:02 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Rockies left fielder Corey Dickerson was named National League Player of the Week on Monday.

In seven games, Dickerson batted .393 (11-for-28) with three home runs, four doubles, 11 runs batted in and six runs scored for his first career weekly honor.

The 25-year-old finished out the week with a home run, five RBI and three runs scored to help the Rockies beat the Reds in both games of a doubleheader on Sunday.

Atlanta's Freddie Freeman and Justin Upton, Pittsburgh's Travis Snider, Milwaukee's Yovani Gallardo and Washington's Doug Fister were all considered for the award.
