Royals add Nix, take Colon off World Series roster
Oct 21, 2014 - 4:48 PM Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals made one change to their 25-man roster for the World Series against the San Francisco Giants.In the infield, Jayson Nix is in and Christian Colon is out. Colon has one RBI and a run scored in two playoff games, while Nix made one plate appearance in the wild-card playoff win over Oakland.
James Shields, Yordano Ventura, Jeremy Guthrie, Jason Vargas, Danny Duffy, Tim Collins, Wade Davis, Brandon Finnegan, Jason Frasor, Kelvin Herrera and Greg Holland comprise the 11-man pitching staff.
Salvador Perez and Erik Kratz remain the two catchers, with Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Billy Butler, Omar Infante, Nix and Alcides Escobar making up the infield.
Royals manager Ned Yost will go with the same six outfielders in Alex Gordon, Nori Aoki, Lorenzo Cain, Jarrod Dyson, Josh Willingham and Terrance Gore.
