Sizemore staying in Philly

Oct 23, 2014 - 9:39 PM Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies signed outfielder Grady Sizemore to a one-year, $2 million contract on Thursday.

The deal includes performance bonuses.

Sizemore, 32, batted .253 with three home runs and 12 RBI in 60 games for the Phillies this past season. He began 2014 as the starting center fielder for Boston, but he was released by the Red Sox in June.

A two-time Gold Glover winner and three-time All-Star with Cleveland, Sizemore didn't play in the majors in 2012 and 2013 due to knee and back injuries.

For his career, Sizemore has hit .266 with 144 home runs and 485 RBI over 1,004 games, all but 112 for the Indians.

The Phillies also avoided arbitration with Cesar Jimenez by agreeing to a one- year contract. The 29-year-old lefty had a 1.69 ERA in 16 appearances for the Phillies in 2014.
