Butler officially signs with A's
Nov 19, 2014 - 5:24 PM Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Designated hitter Billy Butler signed a three-year deal with the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday.Financial terms of the deal were not released, but reports on Tuesday had the deal worth $30 million.
The 28-year-old hit .271 with nine home runs and 66 RBI over 151 games last season with the AL champion Kansas City Royals, who declined a club option on him earlier this offseason. He also supplied eight RBI on a .262 batting average in 13 games during the postseason for the Royals.
Butler, who was an All-Star in 2012, owns a career batting average of .295 with 127 home runs and 628 RBI in 1,166 games over eight seasons, all with the Royals.
