Yankees pick up Germen from Mets
Dec 19, 2014 - 8:03 PM Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Yankees have acquired pitcher Gonzalez Germen from the New York Mets in exchange for cash considerations.Germen appeared in 25 games out of the bullpen last year for the Mets and did not record a decision while pitching to a 4.75 earned run average. He was designated for assignment by the Mets on Monday.
The 27-year-old right-hander owns a career record of 1-2 with a 4.31 ERA in 54 games over two seasons, both with the Mets.
It's the 15th trade all-time and the first in 10 years between New York's baseball rivals. The last came in December 2004 when the clubs swapped Mike Stanton for Felix Heredia.
