Nats sign Carp, Lerud to minor league deals
Jan 13, 2015 - 7:04 PM Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Nationals signed infielder/outfielder Mike Carp and catcher Steven Lerud to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training on Tuesday.Carp was with Texas and Boston last season, hitting a combined .175 in 59 games. He is a career .254 hitter with 27 homers and 127 RBI in 318 games over six seasons with Seattle, Boston and Texas.
Lerud spent last year in the Braves' organization, hitting .250 with four homers and 19 RBI in Triple-A Gwinnett.
