Marlins reportedly sign Ichiro

Jan 23, 2015 - 7:21 PM Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Marlins have reportedly reached a one-year agreement with outfielder Ichiro Suzuki.

The Miami Herald, citing a source with direct knowledge of the deal, is reporting the agreement is in the $2 million range.

Suzuki hit .284 with one homer, 22 RBI and 42 runs scored in 143 games with the Yankees last season, his 14th year in a league.

A 10-time All-Star, Suzuki has 2,844 major league hits and 4,122 professional hits when counting his time in Japan. He had 10 straight 200-plus hit seasons starting in his rookie year of 2001 with the Seattle Mariners, leading the league in the category seven times.

With Miami, he will likely serve as a fourth outfielder and pinch-hitter.
