Reds OF Dunn to have knee surgery

Sep 25, 2007 - 11:11 PM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Reds left fielder Adam Dunn on Wednesday will have arthroscopic surgery to clean out his right knee.

Dunn, who is batting .264 with 40 homers and 106 RBI in 152 games, left Sunday's game with the San Francisco Giants in the sixth inning.

It could be the end of the line in Cincinnati for Dunn, the only player in franchise history to belt 40 homers in four consecutive seasons. The Reds hold a $13 million option for the 2008 season with a $500,000 buyout.

"I don't even worry about it," Dunn told MLB.com, repeating a mantra he used when he was involved in constant trade rumors all summer. "I just want to play these last 11 games and see how everything plays itself out."
