Brewers 1B Fielder out of regular-season finale
Sep 30, 2007 - 5:18 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Despite a record-setting season, Prince Fielder will still be looking up to his father in home runs.Fielder will miss the Milwaukee Brewers' regular-season finale against the San Diego Padres on Sunday with a swollen knee.
Fielder suffered the injury Saturday when his leg buckled in the 11th inning as the Padres' Jason Lane clipped him when he slid into first base. The 23-year-old first baseman was very slow to get up before taking his at-bat in the bottom half of the frame.
The youngest player in major league history to reach 50 home runs in a season, Fielder will remain at that total - one shy of the 51 that Cecil Fielder blasted with the Detroit Tigers in 1990.
