Angels LF Anderson leaves game with conjunctivitis

Oct 7, 2007 - 8:36 PM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left fielder Garret Anderson left in the second inning of Sunday's Game Three of the American League Division Series against the Boston Red Sox with conjunctivitis in his right eye.

Anderson has been struggling with conjunctivitis since the end of the regular season but had played the first two games of the series in their entirety, going 2-for-8 before Sunday's game.

The Angels, who are trailing two-games-to-none in the best-of-five series, are already missing regular center fielder Gary Matthews Jr., who was left off the ALDS roster with an injured knee.

Reggie Willits replaced Anderson, who lined out in his lone at-bat Sunday, in the outfield.
