Tigers hire Rich Dubee as new pitching coach
Oct 29, 2015 - 5:22 PM DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Tigers have hired Rich Dubee to be the team's new pitching coach.Dubee takes over after Jeff Jones' retirement. Dubee was the minor league pitching coordinator for the Atlanta Braves for the past two seasons. Before that, he was the pitching coach for the Philadelphia Phillies for nine seasons.
He was with the Phillies when they won the World Series in 2008, and when their rotation included aces Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee.
The Tigers are trying to bounce back from a last-place finish this year, when their once-vaunted starting rotation slipped significantly.
