Reds C Valentin leaves with injury

Apr 5, 2008 - 3:33 AM CINCINNATI (Ticker) - Cincinnati Reds catcher Javier Valentin left Friday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies in the sixth inning with a strained left hamstring.

Valentin was hurt after he singled to right field with one out in the sixth. He gingerly limped down to first base and was removed from the game.

The team said he will be re-evaluated Saturday.

Paul Bako came in to run for Valentin and replaced him at catcher.

With David Ross on the 15-day disabled list, Bako is the only healthy catcher on the team's roster.
