Tigers CF Granderson to resume baseball activities
Apr 7, 2008 - 12:16 AM DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Tigers finally have received some good news this season.X-rays have revealed sufficient healing in Tigers center fielder Curtis Granderson's injured right hand, allowing him to resume baseball activities on Monday.
The 26-year-old was placed on the 15-day disabled list after suffering a broken finger when he was hit by a pitch in a Grapefruit League game on March 22.
Granderson batted .302 with 23 home runs, 74 RBI and 122 runs scored from the leadoff spot in Detroit's potent lineup last season. He also stole 26 bases.
He added 38 doubles and 23 triples, making him only the second player in major league history to collect at least 30 doubles, 20 triples, 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a single season.
The Tigers (0-5), who have been picked by many to reach the World Series this season, remained the only winless club in the majors entering Sunday's weekend finale against the Chicago White Sox.
No one has shouted yet.
