Mets activate LF Alou from DL
May 3, 2008 - 2:22 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The New York Mets activated left fielder Moises Alou from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.Alou, who missed the first 26 games of the season while recovering from hernia surgery, is batting fifth.
The oft-injured Alou was scratched from a rehab start on April 25 due to a sore ankle but had an MRI on Wednesday, which came back negative.
Alou, 41, hit .341 with 13 home runs and 49 RBI in 87 games last season.
In a corresponding move, the Mets optioned catcher Gustavo Molina to Class AAA New Orleans of the Pacific Coast League.
