Reds 2B Phillips out of lineup
May 9, 2008 - 10:07 PM FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the New York Mets due to a bruised left calf.Phillips homered in a 9-0 win over Chicago on Wednesday, but suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his leg. Phillips is eligible to pinch hit.
The 26-year-old Phillips is hitting .276 (37-for-134) with six home runs and 16 RBI.
