Angels SS Aybar injured
May 10, 2008 - 2:50 AM ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim shortstop Erick Aybar left Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth inning after being hit in the hand by a pitch.Aybar squared around to bunt and was hit across the fingers on his left hand by James Shields' pitch as he held the barrel of the bat over the plate.
X-rays on Aybar's hand were negative, and he was diagnosed with a bone contusion.
Robb Quinlan ran for Aybar and was erased on a double play.
