Rockies call up prized RHP Reynolds
May 11, 2008 - 8:23 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- The Colorado Rockies are getting a look at their future.The Rockies purchased the contract of righthander Greg Reynolds from Class AAA Colorado Springs prior to Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres.
The second overall pick of the 2006 draft, Reynolds will make his first career start in place of Mark Redman.
Redman went 2-3 with a 7.84 ERA in seven games before being optioned to Colorado Springs to make room for Reynolds.
The 22-year-old Reynolds was 1-2 with a 4.86 ERA in seven games with Colorado Springs.
