ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- After getting swept in Tampa Bay this weekend, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim could soon be receiving some reinforcements.
Ace John Lackey is expected to rejoin the team on Monday and could be activated from the disabled list to start Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Lackey, who opened the season on the DL with a strained right triceps, threw 88 pitches in his final extended spring training start on Friday and reported no problems.
Lackey paced the Angels last season in wins (19), ERA (3.01), starts (33), innings pitched (224) and strikeouts (179).
Anaheim could be getting further help as righthander Dustin Moseley, on the DL since May 4 with stiffness in his right forearm, may rejoin the Angels on the team's upcoming seven-game homestand.
Moseley had two productive bullpen sessions last week and is scheduled to throw approximately 60 pitches for Class A Rancho Cucamonga on Monday.
On Saturday, the Angels placed third baseman Chone Figgins on the DL with a right hamstring strain.
They also have been without second baseman Howie Hendrick, who has not played since collecting three hits - including two runs - on Tuesday. He has been bothered by a nagging left hamstring injury.
