Mets LF Alou ejected

May 15, 2008 - 12:42 AM FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- New York Mets left fielder Moises Alou was ejected in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals for arguing balls and strikes.

Alou was caught looking at a called third strike on the outside half of the plate and slammed his bat down in protest. The 41-year-old immediately was ejected by home plate umpire Dana Demuth.

Alou, who missed the first 26 games of the season after undergoing hernia surgery, is hitting .342 (12-for-35) in nine games this season.
