Tigers SS Santiago leaves game

Jun 4, 2008 - 9:59 PM OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Detroit Tigers shortstop Ramon Santiago left Wednesday's game against the Oakland Athletics in the seventh inning with an apparent shoulder injury.

Playing in place of starter Edgar Renteria, Santiago dove for a line drive to center field by Rob Bowen and drove his shoulder into the ground. Team trainers immediately tended to Santiago, who laid on the ground for several minutes after the dive.

Santiago, who went 1-for-2 with a walk, was replaced by Renteria.
