Padres 2B Iguchi separates shoulder
Jun 6, 2008 - 6:37 AM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- San Diego Padres second baseman Tadahito Iguchi left Thursday's 2-1 victory over the New York Mets in the seventh inning with a separated right shoulder.Iguchi sustained the injury while trying to avoid a line drive while running to third base. The ball nicked Iguchi's right leg, and he tumbled to the ground as he was called out to end the inning.
"(Iguchi) has a separated shoulder," Padres manager Bud Black said. "It looks like it could be four weeks minimum of just rest. He landed on the right shoulder trying to avoid the ball."
The 33-year-old Iguchi, who went 3-for-4 on the night, entered the contest batting .251 with two home runs and 19 RBI this season.
