Cardinals recall RHP Boggs
Jun 6, 2008 - 8:01 PM HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Cardinals on Friday purchased the contract of righthander Mitchell Boggs from Class AAA Memphis.Boggs, 24, has anchored the Memphis rotation this year, going 5-1 with a 3.28 ERA in 12 starts.
In a corresponding move, the Cardinals optioned righthander Mike Parisi to Memphis.
The Cardinals also on Friday transferred pitcher Tyler Johnson to the 60-day disabled and rescinded the option of pitcher Kelvin Jimenez to Memphis and placed him on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised right hand, retroactive to May 31.
