Brewers place 2B Weeks on DL
Jun 9, 2008 - 9:31 PM MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers placed second baseman Rickie Weeks on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a sprained left knee.Weeks had missed the last two games after leaving Friday's contest against the Colorado Rockies in the eighth inning. Weeks was at second base when he took a hard slide from Jeff Baker, who was trying to break up a double play.
The 25-year-old is hitting .210 this season with seven home runs and 23 RBI. He leads the team with 43 runs scored.
Taking Weeks' roster spot will be infielder Hernan Iribarren, who the Brewers recalled from Class AAA Nashville and will join the team in Houston for Tuesday's game.
