Reds activate INF Keppinger from DL

Jun 22, 2008 - 4:40 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds activated infielder Jeff Keppinger from the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's interleague finale with the New York Yankees.

Keppinger had been sidelined since May 14 due to a fractured left kneecap.

Prior to the injury, Keppinger was a strong offensive contributor, hitting .324 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 39 games.

In the corresponding move, the Reds designated infielder Andy Phillips for assignment. Phillips hit .143 with four RBI in 15 games.
