Reds 3B Encarnacion leaves game
Jun 22, 2008 - 6:13 PM BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Cincinnati Reds third baseman Edwin Encarnacion left Sunday's game against the New York Yankees with lower back spasms.Encarnacion was replaced in the field in the bottom of the third inning, with Jeff Keppinger moving over from shortstop and rookie Pete Janish entering the game.
Encarnacion probably suffered the injury when he made a jumping stab to rob Robinson Cano of a potential run-scoring hit to end the second.
On the season, Encarnacion is hitting .241 with 12 homers and 29 RBI in 74 games.
