Reds activate Hairston from DL
Jun 26, 2008 - 8:15 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds activated shortstop Jerry Hairston, Jr. from the 15-day disabled list on Thursday.Hairston has been out since June 10 with a fractured left thumb.
The 32-year-old is leading the team in hitting at .336 with one home run and 14 RBI. He has also stolen 12 bases through 40 games.
To make room for Hairston, the Reds optioned shortstop Paul Janish to Class AAA Louisville. Janish was batting .188 (12-for-64) with five RBI in 31 contests.
