Tigers 1B Cabrera leaves game

Jul 1, 2008 - 6:35 AM MINNESOTA (Ticker) -- Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera left Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins with a tight left hip flexor.

Cabrera, who is listed as day-to-day, left the game in the third inning when Clete Thomas pinch-hit for him. In the bottom of the inning, Cabrera had committed an error.

In his first year with the Tigers, Cabrera is batting .281 with 11 home runs and 48 RBI. He had entered on a hot streak with three consecutive two-hit games.

Tigers manager Leyland said the injury has bothered the team's big offseason acquisition since spring training.
