Tigers 1B Cabrera sits with hip flexor
Jul 1, 2008 - 11:16 PM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was scratched from the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Twins due to a left hip flexor injury.Cabrera is listed as day-to-day after leaving Monday's contest in the second inning. He was replaced at first base by Marcus Thames.
Before Tuesday, Cabrera had played in 81 of the Detroit's first 82 games this season and leads the team in at-bats with 303.
The red-hot Tigers (42-40) are seeking their seventh straight win. They have won 18 of their last 22 games to
move over .500 after dropping to 24-36 on June 6.
