NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Arizona Diamondbacks righthander Dan Haren on Wednesday was named the National League Pitcher of the Month for June.
Haren, who went 3-0 with a 1.32 ERA in the month, tossed 41 innings and allowed six runs and 24 hits. He threw at least seven innings in five of six June starts, walking only eight batters in the process.
The 27-year-old Haren, who was acquired in a trade with the Oakland Athletics in December, is 8-4 with a 2.85 ERA in 17 outings this season.
Other pitchers receiving votes were Kyle Lohse of the St. Louis Cardinals, Manny Parra of the Milwaukee Brewers and Heath Bell of the San Diego Padres.
