Dodgers to activate Garciaparra, Jones
Jul 3, 2008 - 7:19 PM HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Thursday that they will activate infielder Nomar Garciaparra and outfielder Andruw Jones from the disabled list on Friday.Garciappara has been on the DL since April 26 with a strained left calf, while Jones has been nursing a right knee injury and has been sidelined since May 25.
Garciaparra has played in just nine games this season, hitting .226 (7-for-31) with one home run and five RBI.
Jones, who signed a two-year, $36 million deal with the Dodgers in the offseason, is batting just .165 (22-for-133) with two home runs and seven RBI.
The duo combined to hit 9-for-16 this week with Class AAA Las Vegas. Jones, who was 4-for-8 during his rehab stint, homered for Las Vegas on Monday.
