0 shoutsPHOENIX (Ticker) -- The San Diego Padres placed catcher Michael Barrett on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a broken nose.
Barrett had left Wednesday's contest against the Colorado Rockies in the third inning after he fouled a ball off his face. Bloodied and wobbly, he did leave the field under his own power.
The catcher is batting just .202 this season with two home runs and nine RBI in 30 games.
To fill Barrett's roster spot, the Padres purchased the contract of catcher Nick Hundley from Class AAA Portland.
