Athletics place Foulke on DL

Jul 4, 2008 - 7:18 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Oakland Athletics on Friday placed reliever Keith Foulke on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

It marks the second stint on the DL this season for Foulke, who was sidelined from April 11 to May 9 with neck stifness. The righthander is 0-3 with a 3.81 ERA in 26 appearances.

To replace Foulke, the A's recalled lefthander Jerry Blevins from Class AAA Sacramento of the Pacific Coast League. Blevins was 2-2 with 10 saves and a 2.78 ERA in 28 games at Sacramento.
